WHICH JOB IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

CHECK-IN

Are you an early riser? Can you be ready to deal with tired swimmers first thing in the morning? These people check swimmers in as they arrive at the pool and help write events on their arms. Another short commitment for 2-3 people that ends before the meet starts.

MEET MARSHALL (formerly called Ready Bench)

The ideal person here is someone who can calm the nerves of the younger swimmers and stay out of the way of the older ones. Your job is to hang behind the starting blocks and ensure the swimmers are in the correct lane and heat order. Three people needed for each half of the meet.

READY BENCH (formerly known as Blanket Parent)

Do you want to make the coaches happy and track down swimmers for their events? These volunteers walk around the pool area announcing which events are coming up, so our Dolphins can be prepared for their races. Then, you can get some much needed shade under the tent marking off the swimmers who are ready to walk behind the blocks. Coach Will leads the charge with two volunteers for each half of the meet.

TIMERS

We need lots and lots of timers to make the meet go fast and smooth. You’re assigned a lane with two other people, so if you make a mistake with the stopwatch, they have your back. The meet will not start unless we have enough timers. The referee will show you how to use the stopwatch before the meet. Ten timers needed for each half of the meet.

*TECH TEAM

Helps enter times and DQs into the system with our Teach Team Lead - Jeff Brothers. Two people needed for all home meets - this job is 2 shifts with needed breaks.

*DECK RUNNER

This volunteer gets to meander around the pool for their shift. The volunteer circles the pool deck every few events, picking up time sheets for the scorer's table and DQs for the referee. They also deliver water to the judges and timers located around the pool. One person needed for each half of all home meets.

STROKE & TURN JUDGE

Do you want to learn more about how you can help your child become a better swimmer? Become a judge! Reach out to the team rep if you're interested in some training. These are critical volunteers because the meet will not begin until we have enough judges. Two or three people needed to judge for each half of the meet.

RIBBONS

Perfect job for the person who wants to sit down and be in the shade. About 30-minutes into the meet, this volunteer needs to go to the computer tent. The printer will start generating labels for you to apply to the ribbons. One person needed for each half of the meet.

*CONCESSIONS

Have fun selling food and drinks to families. It’s in the shade and very easy to leave your shift to watch your children swim. Several people needed for each half of all home meets.

*SET-UP

The evening before all home meets, we need to prepare the pool. Arrive at 8pm and set up the pool deck area for the meet. Done by 9:30pm. Great for families with teens needing service hours. Several people are needed for all home meets.

*PARKING

Night before - set out signage to reserve parking spots for Raffle Ticket Winners, Coaches, Team Rep from both teams. Part of SET UP crew

*CLEAN-UP

As soon as the meet ends, the clean-up begins. Not a big time commitment as long as many people stay to help out. Another opportunity for teens needing service hours. Several people are needed for all home meets.

PARENT RELAY

THIS IS DOES NOT COUNT AS A VOLUNTEER POSITION - it is just for fun! For the parents to cool off in the pool and for the kids to cheer on!

Every family is expected to provide at least

one volunteer shift per meet.

Please do your part!
